This Weeks Update

This week was great for interaction, so lets keep it up. This week I want to begin working on the koi. I've already gotten some great ideas that I want to explore, but I still need more input.

See you next update

Thanks! xxx

just generally interested to see what it all looks like when you've rendered the letters and fish.
only constructive feedback i have is i'm not sure about the noise around the edges of the image
but i guess thats a personal thing
overall its looking very cool

Hey, it just occurred to me that when/if you give the fish colour, it would be cool if at least one of them had different coloured eyes. You know what I mean? Like David Bowie's, two eyes of different colours.

Chio_garu of Adelaide said: Backgrounds...never been my strongpoint, personally I tend to keep them really simple or just flat out ignore them (sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't...)

But I shall provide what feedback I am able to...I like to work with patterns myself. But having no clue what you intend to do with the foreground...Maybe some subtle patterns to reflect on what you have in the foreground.

Just experiment, go with the flow and see what happens I guess,

See you tomorrow.

Here it is guys, this weeks update. Let me know what you think. Let me know what you think it needs. The background is nearly close to finished but it needs something else. What is that something? There is a poll on the main page of the myspace site which is open for everyone to vote in, or just leave me a comment here.

The Update!!

So heres the update. The background is missing something and I want you to tell me what I can do to improve it. How can I make it pop? Introduce some gradients? Some blurring? Maybe I should change the colour? Let me know.

Comments/Myspace Poll Results

This weeks been a little slow, only three comments and two votes on the myspace poll. Come on people, shape up! Without your help I can't really go forward and that would be a crying shame.

First of all, the poll results. Of two votes 100% goes to the background colour scheme of yellow/baby blue/orange. Tomorrows update will center around that. Coooooool.

First Update

So here's the 411 art fans:

"The People's Artist" is an interactive art initiative fronted by "New Media" artist Alix Schuppan updated every Thursday afternoon. The concept is to invite the public to give tips, ideas, constructive criticism or words of praise that will help develop a digital Illustration.

Each week the main page will be updated with the latest progress shot. How do you leave you're words of wisdom? Just leave me a comment letting me know what you think along with your name at the bottom.
What's in this for the public you ask? The person who gives me the most amount of feedback over the next 13-15 weeks will win an A3 sized poster print of the final work sent to them as a thank you for their input. The more you contribute to the outcome, the better your chances become at winning.

Now lets cut to the first sketches:

Basic Sketch:
Pen Outlines:

Here's the first update (click to expand). The colours are not definite, they are only there so you can tell the difference between the lines and give it some more definition.

So heres where all of you kind people come in. What would you like to see next week when I begin Illustrating. Different font? More images? Colours? Or do you like how looks right now? You tell me.
See you next week
